There's no doubt that Drew has been ramped up for this day for about 2 months now! Any time the mention of presents, cake, surprises, family, or anything near any of those are mentioned, Drew asks if it's his birthday. "Today?!", to which we go through again, the order of birthdays for the month...Mommy, then Noah, THEN Drew - "Tomorrow?!" Obviously it's not sinking in! Hilarious!
He was just SO excited to be 3! There are so many things he's been looking forward to - his family coming to visit, playing on a team and getting a jersey, wearing underwear, and just being older - sounds fun right?! And since Mommy LOVES celebrating birthdays, we couldn't just wait til the party to do some celebrating! Drew got to take some special rice krispies (cake batter with sprinkles) to school and then got presents from Mommy, Daddy & Noah when he got home, topping it off with an ice cream cupcake! Oh, and we musn't forget the infamous (to Mommy's family at least) Zoom Birthday song! Since Mommy was about 8, she's had a Birthday song that you order to get your name personalized in the song played for her every year, until this last year :( when we forgot - but Nana made sure Drew and Noah got one too. So Drew got to hear his again this year, and for the first time seemed to start to get it - a tradition I hope he'll love as much as I have!
